Is your visual branding doing you justice?

What is a brand audit and how will it help my small business

Here's where a brand audit comes in.

You know your visuals need some work but you're not sure where to start, what needs to change, or whether what you've already got is worth keeping.

That's exactly what a brand audit is for.

Don't let the word "audit" put you off.

I know. It sounds serious. It sounds like spreadsheets, clipboards, and someone peering over your shoulder with a red pen.

But the thing is it's just the most accurate word for what we're doing. We're taking stock. Looking at what you've got, how it's working, and whether it's still serving you. That's an audit.

In practice though? It's a chat. A guided, purposeful chat with someone who knows what to look for. No jargon, no judgement, no red pen in sight.

Think of it as a 20-minute brain-pick with a designer who also happens to have coaching training. Someone who'll ask the right questions, listen properly, and help you leave feeling clearer than when you arrived.

It's part design review, part thinking-out-loud session. And it might be the most useful 20 minutes you spend on your business this month.

You might need a brand audit if…

• Your logo feels "fine" but something's off and you can't quite put
your finger on it

• Your business has evolved but your visuals haven't kept up

• You like your logo, but you wonder if the colours or fonts are really right for your brand

• You're not sure you're using your logo consistently across all your marketing

• Your logo works on some things but not others, you need more flexibility

• You've heard terms like submark or secondary logo and want to know
if they'd help you

Any of those land? Good. You're in the right place.

A safe space to unpack your thoughts

One of the hardest things about running your own business is that you're so deep in it, you can't always see it clearly. It's like trying to read a book that's pressed right up against your nose, you need a bit of distance.

A brand audit gives you that distance. I use my coaching training to create a space where you can say the quiet part out loud, whether that's "I've never really loved my logo" or "I honestly don't know if I'm using my brand consistently."

No judgement. No jargon. Just honest conversation.

Here's what actually happens

Gather your thoughts. We start with where you are right now, what's niggling at you, what you love, what you're unsure about. No design knowledge required.

What's working well. Not everything needs to change. We'll look at what's genuinely good and worth keeping. Because knowing that is half the battle.

What could be improved. The honest bit. Whether it's your logo, your colours, your fonts, or the way you're using everything together, we'll name it clearly.

Is it time for a change? A rebrand isn't always the answer. We'll look at whether a full refresh, a logo tweak, or just a few practical adjustments makes most sense for where you are right now.

Are you ready? A new brand only works if you're ready to own it. We'll have that conversation too.

Your questions answered. Submark? Secondary logo? Brand guidelines? If you've been Googling terms and not quite getting it, just ask. That's what I'm here for.

Leave feeling clearer and in control

By the end of your brand audit, you won't just have a list of things to fix. You'll have a much clearer picture of where your brand stands, what's holding it back, and what your next step looks like.

No more "that'll do." No more second-guessing every time you post something. Just clarity and the confidence to move forward.
