The Top Branding Trends for 2026 and How to Make Them Work for Your Business

As we step into a new year, many business owners are thinking about fresh starts and your visual branding is a great place to start. But before you dive headfirst into the latest design trends, let’s talk about what’s new for 2026 and, more importantly, how to use these ideas without losing your authentic self.

The truth is trends are exciting, but timeless design builds trust and recognition. I’ve written this blog so we can explore what’s coming and how
to make it work for you.

1. Colour Trends

2026 is all about balance. Expect to see bold, confident colour palettes paired with earthy, sustainability-inspired tones. Think vibrant accents against calming neutrals. This would work well for brands that want to feel modern yet grounded.

How to use it: If your brand personality is bold and energetic, adding a pop of colour can make your visuals stand out. If you lean towards calm and trustworthy, muted greens and soft neutrals will feel authentic.

Top tip
Choose colours that align with your values, not just what’s trending.

2. Typography

Fonts are getting personality upgrades. Clean, minimalist typefaces remain popular for clarity, but 2026 will see playful serifs and custom lettering that add character.

How to use it: If your brand voice is friendly and approachable, a serif with a little flair can feel warm and inviting. For professional, high-end brands, stick with sleek sans-serifs but consider subtle tweaks for uniqueness.

3. Logo Styles

Logos are continuing to simplify, it’ll all be about clean shapes and adaptable designs. I’m loving the move towards motion logos they’re gaining traction for digital platforms, adding life and energy to your brand.

How to use it: If you’re refreshing your logo, focus on versatility. It should look great on a business card, Instagram profile, and animated in a video.

Motion isn’t essential, but it’s a brilliant way to stand out online.

4. Illustration & Texture

Hand-drawn elements and natural textures are making a comeback. They add warmth and authenticity. Perfect for brands that want to feel personal and human.

How to use it: Consider subtle illustrations in your social media graphics or packaging. They’re a great way to inject personality without overwhelming your core identity.

5. How to Apply

Here’s the golden rule: don’t chase trends at the expense of your brand identity. Trends should enhance your brand, not change it.

Here are some questions to consider:

• Does this trend align with my values?
• Will it still feel relevant in two years?
• Does it strengthen my brand story?

If the answer is yes, go for it. If not, stick with what you’ve got.
